So im getting carried away with posts lately but I have decided to compile a list of all the alternate Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum models I can find. I will try my best to keep it tidy and readable! I just think if people have one big list of alternate Guard models all with links etc it will be a hell of a lot easier to see whats available and heck I may find some cool ideas while im at it!
Remember, you are not limited at all when making an army. I wont include historic models here because they are easy to find and the list would be huge! But I will include bits stores as well just encase you want to add to your current army or just need bits.
I highly advise looking through all the sites and bits etc you can in the links. Or you may miss something that really speaks out to you.
So lets start with the obvious:

Warning, concept art may be much better than the final product!
I felt like an 19th Century themed Anglo Zulu war Sci Fi army would not be complete without cavalry. But after owning over 30 rough riders on horseback in my time, I felt like id do something different. Thanks to someone I know I came across some Mantic Badgers below.

The Necrons rose to fight the 8th Praetorians in the ash wastes. An open and desolate battlefield proved most deadly to vulnerable riflemen. Was a great game and casualties amassed on all sides. What was great about it was the Maelstorm cards forcing our armies to close the gap and led to brutal and harsh fire fights.

I have to battle the Necron threat tonight. Now these Necrons are my arch enemy at the moment. Our wins and losses are fairly equal and every game is tense so expect a good game very soon. Yet again it will be 2 painted armies pitched against each other to the death fighting with the Maelstorm Mission cards.

With the new Ork Codex being released I thought I will give Kromlech some spot light. Now I love these Orks and I would definitely use these guys if I where to start an Ork force. My favorite being the Ork Commissar and Gretchen Squad. So here is a show case of awesome products available from Kromlech to suit your Orkish needs.

Im starting to really dislike my 6th edition Imperial Guard codex. I haven't reviewed the codex yet simply because I cant read the whole thing! Its not the rules but the background that really kills this book. So i'll go into more detail and explain why.

I have just been informed that Call To Arms has Flames of War as a playable game in the tournament coming this August. So I decided rather recently that I may try get in on the action. Its time for the Empire of Japan to take its rightful place and dominate the lesser nations of the world. BANZAI!

The Last Stand at Glazer's Creek was a battle that was famously won by the Praetorian Guard. In my opinion its a battle that really shows the nature of GW today and how they operate. To see what I mean, I seriously recommend reading this amazing battle report. What you see there is a well planed, well presented and well executed battle with the perfect amount of forge the narrative chucked in there. You will never see Battle reports like this from GW anymore, which is a huge pity. But oh well, time goes on and frankly we gamers have more than enough imagination to fill in the void of creativity ourselves.

I came across a guy who was starting out a model making business mainly doing vehicle modifications for chimeras etc. When I found him he was making his own Chimera Version and the Mini Tank you see below. Instantly I had found my answer to the lack of Heavy Weapons in my army.

This was a very close battle and I expected to suffer a defeat. My opponent wasnt too optimistic either. Both our armies where NOT DESIGNED well for the army on the other side. So we had to make do. I managed to, however keep the astropath alive. So here is the casualty report:

So these are the finished results. I like to base mine when they return to me so it matches the stuff I have done. As you may know I love bright vibrant colours on my models and these guys are exactly that. Hopefully you like them. I will have more pictures of them in combat next time I can fit them.
