'Forging the Narrative" - 7th Edition Battle Preparation.

This Thursday I will be having my first 7th Edition battle. I have decided to make it a forging the narrative style battle and so here is the pre narrative. I want to take my GW games down a level so its simply for memorable games rather than skill etc. So hopefully this makes the game more interesting.

Bonzai! Japanese Forces Almost Complete

I have a friend at the club painting up my Early War Japanese for Flames of War. Its getting close to completion but I thought id put up a preview of what's been done so far. Im pretty excited and its nice to have another army finished. I am proud to say that one way or another I have far more painted models than I do unpainted! Which is a first for me.

Warhammer 40K 7th Edition - First look

The ever changing game
So in the early hows of this morning, I was rudely awoken by the postman at 5AM. I was about to answer the door in a grumpy manner then it hit me. the company I had pre ordered the book from not only gave me a discount, but also made sure I had the book on the release day! So thank you Mighty Ape. So this was it, the first time I have ever got a new release on the release day.

Reader Army Sneak Peak - Trench Samurai!

So here is an early look at a readers army from across the seas. This army has had a long time in the making, from being Romans and Celts right up to the current Trench Warfare Oriental theme. I love it when players get inventive with their armies. This isn't the first Samurai Style Amy I have seen, but it is the first Trench Warfare Style Samurai Army!

7th Edition 40K - Worth it?

These last few years have seen radical changes as GW continually introduces new things previously unheard of before. Especially seen in its release schedule. We have seen data slates, Mini Faction Codices, speedy releases, White Dwarf changes, website changes, Allies and the list goes on. Now we have something coming many people could not believe. That is the end of an edition after only 2 years. Initially this is seen as bad thing and its pretty easy to see why. So much so that people thought it would be a 6.5 edition for example. So I decided I'd weigh up some Pro's and Con's of what we know.

Big Open Day and Much More!

Unfortunately the campaign has crumbled. The Eldar player left and it would be a bit too much to rework it again. So next at the very least we have found issues that can be fixed for the next campaign. Campaigns take a lot of commitment and effort and unfortunately not every one is up for that.

But oh well. Our club had an open day today and usually we have a huge turn out. Not too much this year but we still had high traffic and many games being played. We had an ork naval battle, 2 infinity matches, one Samurai game, a HUGE D-day landing game, a monster mash up and the most intense Fantasy game U have ever had. Combined with a painting competition and 2 shops who set up a stall it was a great day. The painting competition showed some huge talent this year and unfortunately I didnt get many photos of it.

Any where here is a heap of photos:

GW Model Issues

Hey guys its been a while. Been busy building and painting a Lizardmen army. The Lizardmen are amazing models, the best GW has done in my opinion. But there is one problem I have noticed since the other week. GW has started putting steps under their models. For example the new Commissar, the Eldar Autarch, the Bastilidon, the Ripperdactyls, the new Skink Priest and there are probably more. Especially the Eldar Exarchs.

I have a huge issue with this personally. I love model variety and customization. But these new stands for the models kinda make it hard to add individuality to the kits. Its fine if you have one model, but any more and you are gonna have to do some conversion work (some hard conversion work) to make him look any different to the other guy on a stand.

Its the whole Cadian problem again.

The main issue is how the stand changes the model stance and makes it near impossible to change.

In saying that though, the kits are very nice on their own. In fact I found myself spending more money at GW than I have in a long time. Those scaly killers are just so impressive. As soon as my camera is repaired ill photograph my painted ones.

Also I would like to report our first campaign victory! More on that later though.
